Samantha Gilbertson, MA, has professional background in healthcare ministry, where she maintains dual leadership roles in Spiritual Care and Mission Integration. She was ordained as a minister in 2016. She holds a Masters degree in Spiritual Formation and Discipleship from Portland Seminary, of George Fox University. Additionally, she received her Spiritual Direction Certificate from Portland Seminary, of George Fox University. Samantha is a member of Spiritual Directors International. She provides spiritual direction privately through Wellspring Spiritual Direction, to students enrolled in George Fox University’s Doctor of Psychology program, to students enrolled in Portland Seminary’s Masters programs, and through Eden Spiritual Care.
Samantha is specifically interested in the crossroads of life—in vocation and in the mystery of one’s purpose and spiritual journey. She has extensive experience in grief and loss and finds that her presence in a hospital context is beneficial to those she accompanies. Her various roles allow her to offer a safe space for exploration, discovery, and growth opportunities. She has years of experience in ministry and helping others as they navigate the twists and turns of life. Samantha is warm, engaging, and has a genuine love of all people. She enjoys time with her husband, their grown children, and being “Grammy” to her two grandchildren. She is currently employed at Providence Newberg Medical Center in Newberg, Oregon.

Spiritual direction sessions with Samantha are 50 minutes in length. Scheduling once every three to four weeks is recommended. Sessions are available on a pay-what-you-can basis, from $0 to $60 per session.
