Are you tired, drained, weary? Maybe you've been pouring out a lot to others, and not experiencing much in-pouring yourself. Maybe you've been going through the motions of life as if you're on auto-pilot. Maybe you just need a break, and a change of scenery. Maybe you're thirsty for replenishment and re-connection with God. Eden Spiritual Care is pleased to offer this Replenish Retreat, a one-day in-person retreat! This is your opportunity to visit two beautiful outdoor spaces (see photos) and seek replenishment in a way that is nourishing for you--consider it sabbath time with no formal agenda! |

What To Expect: Two Beautiful Spaces & Freedom to Recharge However You Wish!
- 11:00-12:00 a.m.: Peace Trail & Labyrinth
- Arrive at the North Valley Friends Church parking lot in Newberg at 11:00 a.m. for check-in (note: This retreat is not affiliated with North Valley Friends Church, but they are graciously allowing us to use their grounds)
- On your own, prayerfully set an intention for your retreat time (suggestions on how to do this will be in your retreat packet)
- Prayerfully/meditatively walk the paved North Valley Peace trail and/or walk the on-site outdoor prayer labyrinth (labyrinth informational/usage sheet will be provided). Benches are also available if you prefer to rest.
- Carpool ~5 miles to Fern Creek Farm
- 12:00-4:00 p.m.: Fern Creek Farm
- Prayer for replenishment, together as a group, upon arriving at Fern Creek Farm
- Decide for yourself how you will unwind, recharge, and re-center yourself. Provided activity packet will include suggestions for...
- Journaling (bring your own journal)
- Contemplative photography (bring your smartphone or other camera)
- Drawing, watercolor painting, and other artwork (bring your own favorite supplies or help yourself to ours)
- Reading (bring your own book or browse our spiritual formation collection)
- Poetry/song writing
- Collage making (bring your own favorite supplies or use ours)
- Napping on the grass or in the hammock
- Visiting the goats or hens
- Reflection walk
- Option for one-on-one spiritual direction session with Samantha Gilbertson or Sierra Neiman Westbrook in the prayer "treehouse" (accessible by stairs)
- Closing group reflection and prayer before carpooling back to North Valley Friends Church parking lot
Other important information
- Snacks and beverages will be provided! Feel free to bring your own additional snacks and/or sack lunch if you desire or if you have a special diet.
- Restroom will be available.
- Retreat will take place outdoors in both locations. Dress for the weather. Shaded areas will be available at Fern Creek Farm.
- Peace trail and labyrinth at North Valley Friends church are paved. People with mobility issues should note that Fern Creek Farm has some rocky and grassy uneven ground, which could limit explorations of the farm, but smooth patio is also available.
- Aside from the brief group prayer/reflection gatherings at the beginning and end of the time at Fern Creek Farm, this retreat is unprogrammed. There are no speakers, workshops, or scheduled activities. The day is open-ended to allow you to individually pursue whatever activities you're thirsty for, and decline those that are not replenishing for you. You are welcome to register with a friend or family member if you'd like to spend time reflecting and unwinding with another person.
- Open to adults of any gender, ages 18 and up.
- COVID precautions: Let's keep each other safe! If you are experiencing any symptoms that could be related to COVID, please stay home. Masks are encouraged but optional.

Sierra Neiman Westbrook is an adjunct professor of Christian spiritual formation at Portland Seminary in Portland, Oregon. A graduate of Portland Seminary, Sierra holds a Master of Divinity degree and a certificate in Spiritual Formation & Discipleship. She is also certified through Portland Seminary as a spiritual director. Sierra brings to her work a curiosity about how theology of lament, narrative pastoral care, and explorations in imago Dei theology can enrich a person’s relationship with God. She also enjoys hiking, watching ballet performances, baking, writing, drinking lots of tea, and trying new restaurants with her husband, Justin.
